Transfer My Vinyl to CDR

Lobby Studio Vinyl to CDRDo you have a precious release on vinyl that you can't find on CD or itunes.
The LOBBY Studio in Winston Hills Hill can transfer your content from analogue vinyl records and cassette. Our range of vinyl turntable can also play all the speeds including 33 rpm 12 inch vinyl albums and 45 rpm 7 inch singles.
The old 78 rpm records are our speciality as we use a different type of stylus as these records were not created to be played with a standard stylus. It makes a great deal of difference to the final result.

The LOBBY Studio transfers your vinyl or cassette onto CDR. We have professional analogue and digital turntables set up to capture your vinyl with the best result.
Additional service may need to be applied to your recording including reduction of surface noise, removal of vinyl clicks and adding a touch of equalisation if required.

If you still have vinyl you may also have VHS or Betamax video cassettes you would also like to transfer any video / film to make your DVD.

For all your Post Production vinyl to cd questions contact with Glenn Aird in the office.

1630 Umatic master to Pro Tools and CDR

Lobby Studio 1630 UmaticTransfer 1630 umatic tape format to cdr, PMCD or a pro tools file. From the late 80's this was the only format of master you could supply to a compact disc manufacturing plant. The 1630 umatic was also used as a transport hub from analogue tape to the digital domain. The 1630 umatic could be played numerous time after the analogue transfer without tape deteriation. Often these transfer tapes were sent onto mastering were the track needed to be played numerous times before being recaptured to another umatic. The new umatic was then sent back to post production for album compilation. For many years you would of had different umatic tapes for your realease as sometimes the vinyl, cassette and cd master had different tracks or in a different order.
All digital umatics were time coded based at 30 frames and a sample rate of 44.1 kHz. At Festival Records studio where I worked for 15 years we had 2 audio post production edit and transfer suites. I handled and created all of Festival Records CD Masters onto umatic tape and created compact disc master on the Sony DAE 1100 editor and then the Sony DAE 3000.
At the LOBBY Studio I still have a working machine and am able to capture your data in the digital domain to CDR or a pro tools file. Note due to the age of the umatics and how they may of been stored they may need to be treated before they are played in our machine.

DAT Tape transfers to CDR

Lobby Studio DAT transfersA small portable digital tape that was often used as a digital copy of your final mix as an alternative while analogue was slowly being phased out from the studios. This was a cost effective digital tape format often used to capture live recordings, different variations of the final mix, voice overs, radio ids, interviews or anything audio you did in a recording studio. The machines were avaliable in high end domestic players and commercial time code based units. It could of been captured in 3 different sampling frequencies 32, 41 & 48 kHz. We often find unreleased mixes and rare outakes from sessions on these tapes. What hidden gems have you forgotten about from your recording session that may have been captured?
I still have working DAT machines and are able to capture your data in the digital domain to CDR or a pro tools file. Note due to the age of the DAT and how they may of been stored they may need to be treated before they are played in our machine.
Contact Glenn in the studio to discuss your old analogue and digital formats and the best way for the transfer to the file format of your choice.

Transfer analogue tape to CD

Lobby Studio OtariOver my 30 years in the industry i have seen many formats come and go. Analogue tape has been the prefered format from the 50's into the late 90's. Since I was 16 years old I have been threading analogue tape onto professional tape machines of all sizes.
Many engineers and producers have an opinion on why they prefer the warmth of analogue over digital.
The LOBBY Studio is able to transfer your analogue reel to reel 1/4" or 1/2" tapes with or with out Dolby A or SR. We have a professional tape machine that plays 7.5 ips, 15 ips and 30 ips. We can accept up to a 15 inch reels down to 3 inch. We also have a semi professional analogue tape machine that was used in the domestic market with domestic slower tape speeds. Files are then moved into our Post Prodution unit for mastering or compilation.
We are also able to assist in transferring 2 inch multi track tapes to protools files.

If you are from the late 80's era and have your precious master on 1630 Umatic or DAT tapes then we can transfer these onto CDR or digital files.
We can always transfer your vinyl or cassette onto CDR as well.
Give us a call as we also have the F1 Digital beta in audio format floating around somewhere as well.

For all your transfers and Post Production questions or needs make contact with Glenn.
